A corner to corner square.......

I can see this stitch becoming really addictive, it's so easy to do and is much prettier than the standard basic granny square:

I worked the increase row for 9 rows and then worked the decrease row back to the corner following the same pattern as yesterday.

Jumping on the band wagon......

I've noticed a lot of lovely corner to corner blankets popping up lately so I thought I'd see what all the fuss was about and give it a go myself:

Many mini squares......

Today's square is made of four smaller standard granny squares joined together with double crochets in green:

Continuing a theme......

Today's square is this open lace work squircle (circle in a square):

More bright squares......

Today's square uses all five of the bright colours for my latest project:

This is square number 46, meadow, from the crochet blocks book - there is a popcorn flower in the centre that is not clear from the photo.

An Edwardian Fancy........

Continuing the bright theme of the past few days today's square is number 88 from the crochet blocks book - Edwardian Fancy:

Today's square is number 189 from the crochet squares book, it is called willow:

I think it looks fab and can imagine I'll be making more of these in different colour combinations!

A bright lily.....

This is a repeat of a previous square - the lily square from the crochet squares book, this time with a red background square:

A very hungry caterpillar......

So here it is the finished project:

Framed flower.....

Nearly 12 hours of sorting and processing GCSE results has not left much time for crochet today - and definitely not enough time to finishing stitching my current project together, that will have to wait for another day! So here is a lovely square with a flower in the middle instead:

Once the central flower has been worked the outer rounds are a simple tc square - meaning it didn't take too much brain power to make!

Feet!!

Today I have made six feet for my latest creation:

These were made by working six dc in a magic ring, then working two dc in each stitch from previous round to give twelve stitches in total. Three rounds of dc are the worked and it is finished off, these will be stuffed and stitched onto the rest of the project - hopefully I will manage to get it finished in time for tomorrow's post......

The next bits.....

I'm still working on my new project and have been busy making squashed spheres in a variety of sizes and shades of green:

I'm sure you can work out what it's going to be now.......

These squashed spheres have been created by making a circle of the required size (somewhere around 48-56 dc in total), working several rounds with out increase or decrease (1-3 rounds works well) and then decreasing in the same way as I increased - the key to good increases/decreases is to stagger them otherwise you end up with more of a hexagon than a circle!! The squashed sphere is stuffed when the opening consists of 12 dc so only one more decrease round has to be worked before finishing off.

After several weeks of squares for blankets it is definitely time for a new project:

The main part is a simple red sphere with 52 stitches around its widest part. I then added a nose - a round of 6 double crochets worked in a magic circle, two eyes - the yellow part is 3 rounds of a circle and the grey part is 2 rounds of a circle stitched on top and two antennae - 8 chains, 5 double crochets worked in the second stitch from the hook and the slip stitches worked in the remaining chain stitches. Each of these parts were stitched on to the sphere to create the features of a face. But what is it going to be???

Blues and greens.......

I have managed to join together the 25 squares in greens and blues using a navy blue wool, this blanket has been edged in double crochets:

A square within a square within a square.........

Flower love......

I'm down to the last couple of squares for this blanket in blues and greens. Today's starts with a central flower which then turns into a square in the later rounds:

Dahlia (2)........

This is a very different pattern to the first square titled dahlia that I made earlier in this project!

Popcorn star.....

Today's square, the popcorn star, uses a clever combination of 3tc tog and fptc to create the pointy star tips:

Bobble stripes.......

I really like the combination of the two shades of blue in this one.

Autumn Clusters.....

Now that I've finished the couple of blankets I've been working on its time to return to the blue and green squares - I need 6 more of these for a 5x5 blanket.
Today's square uses the cluster stitch to good effect:

Another pretty blanket.......

In going through the squares I've already made for this project I discovered that I had enough in shades of purple to put together for a blanket:

 The squares have been joined with double crochets to create a slightly raised border and then it was edged with a round of double crochets.

 I plan to sell this one - once I've got my etsy shop set up that is!

Eat, play, sleep, repeat - finished!

After weeks of going back and forth with rows of double crochets in white I have now finally finished this blanket, it has been edged with a round of double crochets to create a nice finish:

Bars and shells.....

Today's square is the bars and shells pattern from the crochet blocks book. However I had to modify it as it was too large to fit with the others I had made - instead of working sets of five treble crochets I worked three:

Diagonals......

This pattern is the same as yesterday's, however it includes a diagonal stitch worked across the front of the group of trebles in place of the third treble. It has been edged with a round of double crochets to tidy up the edges:

Today's square is pattern number 6 from the crochet blocks book, I have edged it with a round of double crochets to finish it off:

Today's square was completed whilst relaxing on the sun lounger by the pool and so the pattern was kind of made up as I went along:

This square is the same pattern as day 211, however it has been worked all in one yarn rather than the different colours of the last version:

Rounds of bobbles......

Today's square continues the bobble theme. I worked a round of treble crochets and then followed this with a round of double crochets working a bobble in the centre stitch from the previous round, this pattern is then repeated on successive rounds:

This square follows the same pattern as the band of bobbles, however instead of working the second half in simple double crochets I continued with the bobbles:
