Baby Jesus......

After a morning spent fixing our broken toilet (a perforated diaphragm valve meant it wouldn't stop filling!) I figured I'd earned an afternoon with my crochet hook. Today I have completed the second figure for the nativity scene I am making - baby Jesus in his manger:
The two pieces are separate but I have attached the straw to the manger to ensure it doesn't get lost!

Edging......

The corner to corner blanket that I finished earlier in the week has now been edged with a round of shell stitch:

I'm going to put this up for sale via my etsy store - crafting chemist.

Just perfect!

I now have only two squares remaing to finish off my brightly coloured 5 x 5 blanket following the completion of today's square in yellow. The challenge for today was to create a square that used exactly the amount of yellow wool I had left, this meant a degree of improvisation - alternating double or treble crochets with a chain stitch to save wool etc. And I'm pleased to report that there was about 6 inches of yellow wool remaining when I'd finished so I'd say that was "just perfect!":
I hope the orange and blue squares I have to create in the next couple of days turn out as well!

Daisy, daisy........

A very simple granny square with a pretty daisy design in the corner:
The pattern for this square is in foreign, but there is a chart to follow:

Kriss Kross.....

Today's square takes a Celtic knot and makes it into a square:
Only using two colours does make it look a bit like a propellor though!
The pattern for this square can be found here:

The Gothic Square......

Today's square is number 94, gothic square from the crochet blocks book:

A corner to corner blanket......

I've finally finished the square part of my corner to corner blanket and I'm really pleased with how it's turned out:
This evening will be spent sewing in all of the ends! I then need to decide how to edge it........
