A train journey is the ideal opportunity to get a bit of crochet done. So today's trip to London enabled me to create this cool popcorn stitch flower and then turn it into a square:
I followed the pattern found here:
http://www.bhookedcrochet.com/2013/04/26/popcorn-stitch-flower-free-pattern/
I worked three rounds of popcorns and then made it square by working sets of 3 dc, tc or dtc between each popcorn stitch - 3 tc, 3 x 3 dc, 3 tc, 3 dtc 2 ch 3 dtc for the corner, repeat 3 more times and join. It was then finished off with a round of tc. This square would make a really cool blanket!
The view from Primrose Hill across the whole of central London was pretty cool too:
Hi I am so glad to find this post! I've made 75 of these popcorn flowers but don't know how to make them into a square, which is what I wanted to do with them and make a blanket. Can you tell me how to do this. I'm new to crochet and don't completely understand what it is you are telling me to do. Do I attach my yarn to the point of the flower, and start the corner? Any help you can give me will be so very appreciated.
ReplyDeleteI joined the yarn to any chain space between 2 "popcorns" and worked 3tc, in the next 3 sets of chain spaces I worked 3dc (9dc in total), I then worked 3tc in the fifth chain space. This is the first edge, to work the corner I did 3dtc, 2ch, 3dtc in the next chain space. This was repeated 3 more times for each edge and then joined to the first treble crochet.
DeleteI hope this helps, good luck.
