Almost too simple......

Today I wanted to make a simple square that only used the basic treble crochet stitch:

The square starts as any traditional granny square starts - sets of 3 treble crochets separated by 2 chains - and then alternates rounds where each treble crochet was separated by a chain stitch and every other stitch from the previous round was skipped (corners had 1 treble, 2 chains, 1 treble) with a round where a treble crochet was worked in every stitch from the previous round (corners had 2 trebles, 2 chains, 2 trebles).
